Description
The reclaimed timber used to make each piece are selected for interesting side-grain, edge-grain or end-grain patterns, they are sanded down in stages leaving a fine, smooth-to-touch, brushed surface after the final round of processing. They are hand finished in an oil/beeswax polish which gently enhances the natural grain features and contrast of ‘early-wood’ and ‘late-wood’ growth within the timber.
The orientation of end-grain ring patterns will vary from piece to piece. Some pieces may have concentric rings, however, other pieces may exhibit different arcs of tighter, wider, or more undulating grain pattern. The exterior side-grain and edge-grain surfaces may be lighter or darker in some pieces than others depending on age and exposure to the elements over time.
These pine wood display blocks come in a quantity of four (4pcs) blocks per set with each block measuring 9cm length x 9cm width x 9cm height approximately.
MADE FROM RECLAIMED WOOD
All the reclaimed wood used to make these blocks comes from heat-treated FSC-Registered timber i.e. this timber is from sustainably sourced supplies and has not undergone any industrial chemical preservative treatments so is safe for the handing in the home, workplace, retail or hospitality environments.
This is weathered reclaimed wood so each piece may contain small knots and colour variation from sun, wind and rain exposure and naturally occurring spalting affects which have developed within the timber over time — these features are not defects but the inherent character of natural, aged, reclaimed wood.
